Valjevo has a unique opportunity to become a national leader in the application of geothermal energy in Serbia, the natural heat of the Earth, a resource that is clean, affordable, renewable, and locally available.
The use of geothermal energy can significantly reduce district heating costs and contribute to improved air quality in Valjevo.
Geothermal Potential of Valjevo
The Valjevo area possesses significant, yet currently untapped, geothermal potential in the form of underground water with temperatures ranging between 40°C and 62°C. Research conducted by the Faculty of Mining and Geology, University of Belgrade, confirms the presence of underground waters of suitable temperatures that can be used for heating residential and commercial buildings.
Our Vision for Valjevo
Palkovsky d.o.o. proposes the development of a geothermal energy utilization project through a public–private partnership model. Through private investment, the project would enable the use of geothermal energy for district heating, providing more affordable, environmentally sustainable, and cleaner heating for a large number of residential and commercial buildings in Valjevo.
Geothermal energy is widely used across the world for electricity generation, district heating, tourism, and agriculture.
