Robert McCurdy

Robert “Rob” McCurdy is an experienced executive with over 30 years of international leadership experience across the resources, energy, and infrastructure sectors. As CEO of Pinnacle Renewable Energy, he led the company to become the world’s second-largest producer of sustainable wood pellets, establishing a global presence across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia. For his contributions to decarbonization and renewable energy innovation, he received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Pacific) and the Lifetime Achievement Award in Canada’s Bioeconomy.

Throughout his career, Rob has worked across four continents, holding senior leadership roles in North America, Europe, and India. At Lafarge, he managed complex operations during critical periods, including post-Hurricane Katrina recovery, as well as major industrial transformations. He has remained consistently committed to building strong, diverse teams, fostering a culture of safety, and leading complex environments with clarity and purpose.

As Chairman of Palkovsky Group, Rob provides stable and strategic leadership in the company’s development in Serbia and internationally. He sees the Valjevo projects as a turning point that will deliver long-term value for the local community, the country, and the environment.
